Under clear skies, David Warner signalled his intent early on Day 2 by scampering a single off the day's first ball.

England struck early through Ollie Robinson, who had Marcus Harris nicking to third slip.

In his first over, Ben Stokes had David Warner bowled only to be told that he'd overstepped. Warner was on 17.

New batsman Marnus Labuschagne had a brief exchange with Ollie Robinson as England applied the pressure.

After the initial jitters, Labuschagne and Warner broke free and completed their century partnership before the Lunch interval.

Warner and Labuschagne went after Leach, hitting 31 off the three overs from the left-arm spinner.

Rory Burns dropped a sitter at second slip as Warner completed his half-century after the Lunch interval.

Marnus Labuschagne hit a six off Jack Leach before falling off the very next delivery for 74.

Leach, who was expensive through the day, did manage to end the 156-run second-wicket stand.

Steve Smith fell for 12 just before Tea edging Mark Wood to the 'keeper.

Robinson took two in two balls after Tea as England came back into the contest.

Among the two dismissed by Robinson was David Warner, who fell for 94, six short of his 25th Test ton.

Travis Head completed his maiden Test hundred off 85 balls.

There was a show of bravery to go with his enterprise as Head was floored by a Mark Wood beamer.
